Geological sections of wells in most cases are presented by compound-built lithologic and stratigraphic complexes. Diagnostics of rocks, which fill compound-built geological sections according to the results of well logging is complicated and is not always effective, especially in assessing the nature of the reservoir-rock saturation and determining its filtration-capacitive parameters. The idea of using the results of discriminant analysis to predict the nature of saturated reservoir rocks causes the creation of classification groups with their inherent features, are compared with the test data within the reference intervals filled with the features of the rocks of the saturation. In the processing of geophysical data obtained during the study of the Neogene deposits in various borehole conditions was carried out their normalization to the uniform conditions using relative geophysical parameters of referred to supporting clay layers. The obtained results of experimental and analytical studies the possibility of using discriminant analysis and higher order moments (asymmetry and kurtosis) in the interpretation of well logging data with the compound-built geological structure confirmed their significance and scientific novelty.uk_UA
