At present, scientists pay much attention to the study of the complex structure carbonate reservoir rocks, which are associated with large oil and gas reserves. When using only the standard techniques, oil saturated carbonate rocks are very difficult to be distinguished against the background of unproductive formations. Therefore, the problem of detection of oil saturated carbonate reservoir rocks is very topical at present. The author conducted the study of distribution of physical fields’ parameters in deposits that are in the geologic cross section on the basis of the results of geophysical well surveys on the example of Lopushnianske oil field. The study of connection between the natural gamma field intensity with the given gamma activity of the terrigenous and carbonate rocks allowed to determine a new approach to analyze the impact of the dispersed clay fraction onto the total volume of the reservoir voids. Based on the study of the carbonate type rock samples with different structure of the pore space, marginal impact of the dispersed fractions on their total porosity and availability of different secondary porosity was determined. In this paper, the author suggested to use the parameter Ψ, which describes the proportion of the dispersed fraction to the total hydrogen rock content, to detect the carbonate reservoir rocks. The study results showed that in the interval of productive formations there is a significant differentiation and intensity of the parameter Ψ variation, while terrigenous rocks are characterized by a curve with insignificant differentiation and low intensity.
