Abstract: The monograph of historians of the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, Uzhgorod National University and Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas highlights the ethno-cultural role of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in the social life of Ukraine in the XX century. The church-religious transformations in the western region are analyzed on the base of the little-known source material. Particular attention is paid to the life of church structures after the restoration of independent Ukraine.
