Gas hydrates and internal corrosion are considered to be major factors responsible for emergency situations at underwater pipeline. Accidents in such places could cause water pollution, destroy biological components of ecosystems and harm human health. Hydrate formation increases under the influence of turbulence that facilitates the formation of nucleation centers and connection of free water. Accumulation of gas hydrates on the inner walls of the channel is of non-monotonic character. First, the gas hydrate layer introduces additional thermal insulation, leading to some stabilization of hydrate formation intensity. As the temperature of the soil decreases, the gas hydrate layer gets closer to the pipeline inlet section and length of hydrate deposits reduces. Thereafter, it is necessary to study the relationship between kinetics of formation and growth of gas hydrates and processes of in-tube corrosion.
